Planted in 2009, this 37.8-acre vineyard is called Bow Tie because, when looking directly down on it from the air, it features a distinctive bow tie shape. Known as Rodella Ranch by local farmers, this vineyard is located on the western side of Russian River along Westside Road. The top vineyard bench is planted to several Pinot Noir clones. It features spectacular views of the entire Russian River drainage and of Mount Saint Helena to the east, and gives way to a sharp drop to the river. The lower portion of the property is planted to four clones of Chardonnay and has been known to flood during 100-year rain events. The soils range greatly from the top half of the property, which is comprised of Arbuckle, to the lower half made up of Cortina, Yolo and Zamora loam and silt.
